Immediately after finishing the five daily prayers, the Prophet taught a set routine of adhkar rather than simply walking away. This includes seeking forgiveness three times, saying 'Allahumma anta as-salam wa minka as-salam, tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram,' and then a count of glorification: saying SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times, and Allahu Akbar 33 times, completing one hundred by saying 'la ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lah...' The Prophet said that whoever does this after every prayer will have their sins forgiven even if they are as much as the foam of the sea (Sahih Muslim 596). Ayat al-Kursi (2:255) is also recommended immediately after each obligatory prayer, along with the last two verses of al-Baqarah and the three short protective surahs (al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, an-Nas). Taken together, these few minutes turn the moment right after salah — when many people are quick to stand up and move on — into one of the most concentrated periods of dhikr in the entire day, sealing the prayer with gratitude, glorification, and a request for continued peace and protection.
