Completely normal, and honestly expected. Becoming Muslim doesn't switch off human nature — you're still learning, still adjusting habits built over a lifetime, and that takes real time. Even lifelong Muslims miss prayers, lose their temper, or fall short of their own standards; the difference isn't perfection, it's the sincere effort to keep returning. Allah tells us directly not to despair of His mercy, that He forgives all sins for those who turn back to Him, no matter how far they feel they've fallen short. Try to think of faith less like a test you either pass or fail and more like a relationship you keep repairing and strengthening. When you slip — miss a prayer, say something you regret, struggle with an old habit — the response isn't self-punishment, it's a sincere "astaghfirullah" (I seek Allah's forgiveness) and trying again. Progress in this deen is rarely a straight line, and Allah loves those who turn back to Him repeatedly far more than those who never stumbled at all. Be as gentle with yourself as Allah is with you.
