Allahummaghfir li warhamni, wa alhiqni bir-rafiqil-a'la

O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, and join me with the Highest Companion.

As death drew near, the Prophet ﷺ would put his hands in water, wipe his face and say:

La ilaha illallah, inna lilmawti lasakarat

There is no deity except Allah; truly, death has its agonies.

The same hadith mentions that he ﷺ used the tooth-stick (siwāk) as death approached.

La ilaha illallahu wallahu akbar, la ilaha illallahu wahdah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, la ilaha illallahu lahul-mulku walahul-hamdu, la ilaha illallahu wala hawla wala quwwata illa billah

There is no deity except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no deity except Allah alone. There is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner. There is no deity except Allah; His is the dominion and His is the praise. There is no deity except Allah, and there is no power and no strength except through Allah.

Allah confirms each of these sayings; whoever says them in his illness and then dies, the Fire will not consume him.
