How was this edition made?
The book. حصن المسلم من أذكار الكتاب والسنة — Fortress of the Muslim: remembrance from the Qurʾān and the Sunnah — was compiled by Shaykh Saʿīd ibn ʿAlī ibn Wahf al-Qaḥṭānī as a short, portable abridgement of his larger work on remembrance, supplication and ruqyah from the Qurʾān and the Sunnah. Its chapters and numbering (132 chapters, 267 readings) are his; this edition keeps them so a reading can be found by its usual number.
The Arabic. Every reading that is a passage of the Qurʾān is printed from the verified Uthmani text of the Tanzil Project — the same text as deen2u's Qurʾān reader. The other readings follow the compiler's wording, fully vowelled, and each was compared word by word with the hadith as it stands in deen2u's own collections wherever it could be found there.
The English. The translation is deen2u's own, made from the Arabic for this edition and checked line by line against it. It is not taken from any published English edition of the book. Transliteration is deen2u's simple reading aid, for those still learning to read Arabic — the Arabic remains the text to recite.
The sources. Under each reading, Source lists the hadith records in deen2u's collections that were opened and found to contain it, with the grading those collections carry; each links to the hadith page. Compiler cites gives al-Qaḥṭānī's own reference. Where a source is held only in collections deen2u does not carry (for example al-Ḥākim, Ibn Ḥibbān or aṭ-Ṭabarānī), only the compiler's reference is shown — it has not been independently checked here.
Corrections are welcome at [email protected]. This is a reference for personal recitation, not a substitute for learning from qualified scholars.
Questions
What is Fortress of the Muslim (Ḥiṣn al-Muslim)?
A pocket collection of the supplications and words of remembrance taught in the Qurʾān and the Sunnah, arranged by the moment they are said — from waking up to sleeping, prayer, travel, illness and hardship. It was compiled by Saʿīd ibn ʿAlī ibn Wahf al-Qaḥṭānī.
Can I download it?
Yes. The whole deen2u edition is a free ebook in two formats: EPUB for phones and e-readers, and an A5 PDF for printing. Both are built from exactly the same text as these pages.
Is the English a published translation?
No. The English in this edition is deen2u's own translation, made directly from the Arabic and checked line by line.
How do I know where a supplication comes from?
Each reading lists the hadith records in deen2u’s collections that contain it, with their grading and a link, and the compiler’s own reference. Readings sourced only in collections deen2u does not hold show the compiler’s reference alone.
