Allahumma a'idhhu min 'adhabil-qabri. Allahummaj'alhu faratan wadhukhran liwalidayhi, washafi'an mujaba. Allahumma thaqqil bihi mawazinahuma, wa a'zim bihi ujurahuma, wa alhiqhu bisalihil-mu'minin, waj'alhu fi kafalati Ibrahim, waqihi birahmatika 'adhabal-jahim, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darih, wa ahlan khayran min ahlih. Allahummaghfir li'aslafina, wa afratina, waman sabaqana bil-iman

O Allah, protect him from the punishment of the grave. O Allah, make him a forerunner and a stored-up treasure for his parents, and an intercessor whose intercession is answered. O Allah, through him make their scales heavy and their rewards great; join him with the righteous believers; place him in the care of Ibrāhīm; and by Your mercy shield him from the punishment of Hell. Give him in exchange a home better than his home and a family better than his family. O Allah, forgive our predecessors, those of ours who went ahead, and those who preceded us in faith.

Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib said he prayed behind Abū Hurayrah over a child who had never committed a sin, and heard him say this.

Source as cited by the compiler Abū Hurayrah's supplication over a child, reported by Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib: Mālik, al-Muwaṭṭaʾ 1/288; Ibn Abī Shaybah, al-Muṣannaf 3/217; al-Bayhaqī 4/9; Shuʿayb al-Arnāʾūṭ: its chain is ṣaḥīḥ (taḥqīq of al-Baghawī, Sharḥ as-Sunnah 5/357); see also Ibn Qudāmah, al-Mughnī 3/416; Ibn Bāz, ad-Durūs al-Muhimmah p. 15

Allahummaj'alhu lana farata, wasalafa, wa ajra

O Allah, make him for us a forerunner, one who has gone ahead of us, and a reward.

Al-Ḥasan used to recite al-Fātiḥah over a child and say this.

Source as cited by the compiler al-Baghawī, Sharḥ as-Sunnah 5/357; ʿAbd ar-Razzāq no. 6588; al-Bukhārī reports it without a chain (taʿlīq) in the Book of Funerals, ch. 65, 'Reciting the Opening of the Book over the deceased' (2/113)
