Yawm al-Jumuʿah — the best day the sun rises on
يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَة
Ghusl and going early, Surah al-Kahf, salawat, listening to the khutbah — and the hour in which no du‘a is refused.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was admitted to the Garden, and on it he was expelled from it."
Allah commands what the day turns on: "O you who believe, when the call is made for prayer on the day of congregation, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trade" (62:9).
Ghusl, and your best
He ﷺ said ghusl on Friday is a duty upon everyone who has reached puberty. Clean clothes, and scent if you have it.
The earlier, the greater
He ﷺ described the one who comes in the first hour as one who offers a camel, then a cow, then a ram, then a hen, then an egg — and when the imam comes out, the angels close the register and listen to the reminder.
Light between the two Fridays
Whoever reads Sūrat al-Kahf on Friday, light shines for him between the two Fridays. Reported outside the two Ṣaḥīḥs and graded authentic by later scholars.
Increase them on this day
He ﷺ said: "Increase your salawat upon me on Friday" — for they are presented to him.
Listen — do not even hush a neighbour
He ﷺ said that if you say to your companion "be quiet" while the imam delivers the khutbah, you yourself have engaged in idle talk. The bar is that high.
When no du‘a is refused
There is an hour in the day in which no Muslim servant asks Allah for something but He gives it to him — he ﷺ indicated with his hand that it is brief.
