Yes. After listing the forbidden foods Allah says: "But whoever is forced by necessity, neither desiring it nor transgressing, there is no sin upon him" (Qurʾān 2:173), and again: "But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin — then indeed Allah is Forgiving and Merciful" (Qurʾān 5:3). Allah also says He has detailed what He forbade "except that to which you are compelled" (Qurʾān 6:119), and repeats the concession in Qurʾān 6:145. The conditions are that the necessity be real (fear of death or serious harm), that no lawful alternative be available, and that one not eat out of desire or exceed the need. The majority restrict it to the amount that repels death and preserves life; some scholars permit eating to satiation when the danger is ongoing, and this ikhtilāf is well known and respected.
