Does seeking medical treatment contradict tawakkul (reliance on Allah)?

No — taking the means is part of tawakkul, not opposed to it. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah has not sent down a disease except that He has also sent down its cure" (al-Bukhārī 5678), and he himself was treated and instructed others to seek treatment. Ibrāhīm عليه السلام attributed healing to Allah alone: "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me" (Qurʾān 26:80). True tawakkul is that the heart depends on Allah alone while the limbs take the lawful means He created, so seeing a doctor, taking prescribed medicine, and making duʿāʾ all belong together.
