Is it recommended to repeat Umrah several times in one trip by going out to al-Tan'im?

The Prophet (ﷺ) performed four 'Umrahs, each of them on a separate journey (Sahih al-Bukhari 1778), and he never left Makkah during a single stay in order to repeat 'Umrah. 'Aishah's 'Umrah from al-Tan'im was a specific concession: menstruation had prevented her from completing the 'Umrah she had already entered into, so the Prophet (ﷺ) sent her brother 'Abd al-Rahman to take her out to al-Tan'im to assume ihram for it (Sahih al-Bukhari 1516; Sahih Muslim 1211). For this reason Ibn Taymiyyah and a number of verifying scholars held that repeatedly leaving the Haram to "stack" 'Umrahs is not from the Sunnah, while others permitted it, citing the hadith, "One 'Umrah to the next is an expiation for what is between them" (Sahih al-Bukhari 1773; Sahih Muslim 1349). It is a real difference of opinion and doing so is not sinful; but the better course is to fill the remaining days with tawaf around the Ka'bah, prayer in the Haram, dhikr and Qur'an — acts that cannot be performed anywhere else on earth — rather than crowding the mataf with repeated 'Umrahs.
