Al-Yasa' (peace be upon him) is mentioned in the Qur'an among the prophets whom Allah guided and favoured. He is named alongside Isma'il, Yunus, and Lut, all of whom Allah preferred above the worlds (6:86).
He is also named with Isma'il and Dhul-Kifl, all counted among the best of people, the chosen (38:48). Beyond these confirmations, the Qur'an does not provide a detailed narrative of his life or mission.
In keeping with authenticity, only what Allah has affirmed is retained: that Al-Yasa' was a guided, chosen, and favoured prophet. Details found in later traditions are unverified and are therefore omitted.
Al-Yasaʿ (Elisha) is named among the prophets Allah favoured and among the outstanding: "And Ismaʿil and al-Yasaʿ and Yunus and Lut — and all We preferred over the worlds" (6:86), and "remember Ismaʿil, al-Yasaʿ and Dhul-Kifl; all are among the outstanding" (38:48). No detailed narrative of his is established in the ṣaḥīḥ Sunnah; on the manhaj of the Salaf we honour him as Allah honoured him and avoid the unverified tales attached to his name.
