The connected, attributed (musnad marfuʿ) narrations that make up the body of both Sahihs are the soundest books after the Book of Allah, and the Ummah received them with acceptance. Later critics such as al-Daraqutni discussed a small number of individual chains, but this scholarly discussion does not overturn the established authenticity of the two collections as a whole. One caution: the muʿallaqat — reports al-Bukhari mentions without a complete chain, often introduced by a passive verb like "it was said" — are judged case by case and are not all at the same grade as his fully-chained material.
