Alcohol, intoxicants, and other clearly forbidden habits are prohibited now that you have accepted Islam, as Allah commanded the believers to abstain from them completely so that they may be successful. That said, Allah is deeply merciful and does not burden a soul beyond its capacity, so if breaking an addiction takes real struggle, He knows your effort and sincerity. Make firm intention, cut off the triggers and company that pull you back, replace the habit with prayer and dhikr, and turn to Allah in repentance whenever you slip — He forgives again and again. Ask Allah directly for strength, seek support from your local Muslim community, and treat each day of struggle as itself an act of worship.
