Q&A · Zakat

How do you calculate zakat?

Zakat on money and trade goods is 2.5% of the wealth a person has held for one lunar year, once it reaches the minimum threshold (nisab). It is calculated on savings, gold and silver, business stock, and money owed that is expected to be repaid.
