Justice in Islam is unconditional and must not bend for love, hatred, or self-interest. Allah says, "Let not the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness" (Quran 5:8). The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that the just will stand before Allah on pulpits of light — "those who are just in their judgements and with their families and those under their charge." A believer is therefore fair in his rulings, his testimony, and his dealings, even against himself or his own kin (Quran 4:135).
