The Prophet (ﷺ) tied keeping family ties directly to faith, saying, 'Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him maintain good relations with his kin.' He warned severely that 'the one who severs ties (of kinship) will not enter Paradise,' underscoring that cutting off relatives is a grave sin, not a mere social failing. True ṣilat al-raḥim, he taught, is not merely repaying those who keep ties with you, but reconnecting with the relative who has cut you off.
