The Prophet ﷺ named ten major signs that must appear before the Hour is established, as narrated by Hudhayfah ibn Asid: the smoke (dukhan), the Dajjal (false messiah), the Beast of the earth, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of 'Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam, the emergence of Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog), three great landslides (in the east, the west, and Arabia), and a fire that drives the people to their place of gathering. Allah also confirms that the return of 'Isa is 'a sign for the Hour' (Quran 43:61). These are certain matters of the unseen that a believer affirms, though only Allah knows their exact timing (Quran 31:34). We prepare not by predicting dates but by righteous deeds and readiness to meet Allah.
