What are the Sunnah manners of eating a meal?

The core adab of eating are three the Prophet ﷺ taught the boy ʿUmar ibn Abī Salamah: say Bismillāh before eating, eat with the right hand, and eat from what is directly in front of you. It is also Sunnah to praise Allah when finishing, to not find fault with food, and to eat in moderation. If one forgets to say Bismillāh at the start, he should say 'Bismillāhi awwalahu wa ākhirahu' when he remembers.
