Surah Al-A'la — The Most High

سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى ﴿١﴾

Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High, 87:1

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ﴿٢﴾

Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 87:2

وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ ﴿٣﴾

Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance; 87:3

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ ﴿٤﴾

And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture, 87:4

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ ﴿٥﴾

And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. 87:5

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ ﴿٦﴾

By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget, 87:6

إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ ﴿٧﴾

Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden. 87:7

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ﴿٨﴾

And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path). 87:8

فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ﴿٩﴾

Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer). 87:9

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ ﴿١٠﴾

The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah): 87:10

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى ﴿١١﴾

But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones, 87:11

ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ﴿١٢﴾

Who will enter the Great Fire, 87:12

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ ﴿١٣﴾

In which they will then neither die nor live. 87:13

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ ﴿١٤﴾

But those will prosper who purify themselves, 87:14

وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ ﴿١٥﴾

And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 87:15

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ﴿١٦﴾

Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; 87:16

وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ﴿١٧﴾

But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 87:17

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ﴿١٨﴾

And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelation),- 87:18

صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ ﴿١٩﴾

The Books of Abraham and Moses. 87:19
