Is a woman's consent required for her own marriage?

Yes; no woman may be married off against her will. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "A previously-married woman may not be married until she is consulted, and a virgin may not be married until her permission is sought," and when asked how a virgin gives permission, he said, "By her silence." When Khansa' bint Khidham was married off by her father while she disliked it, she came to the Prophet and he annulled the marriage. The wali (guardian) contracts the marriage, but he acts on her behalf and cannot force her, so a marriage imposed without genuine consent is invalid.
